Strengthening Math Skills

With MathRx^®, we focus on the fundamental skills needed to get better at math, like short-term memory, logic and reasoning, and processing speed.

At the same time, MathRx^® helps students improve math skills in four basic areas:

We help students become fluent in the language of math, helping them make sense of written equations and math concepts in spoken language.
We teach students how to see the world in terms of numbers and quantities, including concepts like size, weight, and amount.
We help students break down math problems into easy-to-understand pieces and then put the pieces back together to understand the whole problem.
We train students to think in mathematical terms more quickly and accurately, allowing them to understand math concepts and solve problems faster.

As with other LearningRx programs, MathRx^® is customized for every learner. This way, we can focus on specific math skills or math difficulties in training.

Our Programs are Backed by Science

MathRx^® is designed to build and strengthen math skills through one-on-one games and exercise with a LearningRx brain trainer. Between 2010 and 2022, more than 3,519 kids and teens completed our math program and improved math skills by 3.5 years in quantitative concepts!

Children, ages 5-17, who came to us with math struggles, saw the largest gains of 4.9 years in visual processing skills after LearningRx brain training. The average gain in age-equivalent cognitive skill performance was 3.5 years!

Over that same twelve-year period, 463 adults ages 18-78, saw gains in cognitive and math skills including long-term memory, visual processing, and logic & reasoning.

We saw significant improvement in our daughter’s reading ability and fluency and know that it was from the work she did during her sessions at LearningRx. Our daughter started LearningRx being unable to read. She could sound out CVC words but was unable to blend the sounds together to say the word. She is now able to sound out many words, blend them together, and even read words without having to sound them out. She is able to read short stories. She used to dislike going to school as she would get frustrated with being unable to do the work. She now enjoys school and has a great attitude about going.

The reason why I could succeed was that I was on ADHD medication, but the medication made me extremely depressed and enraged all of the time. When I stopped taking it, I was filled with great joy because of my newfound freedom. But something was still wrong. Without the medication, I forgot the first part of the sentence by the end of the second part of the sentence. My imagination never turned off, and despite going to school an hour early and tutoring for an hour after school, I barely passed with Cs. Then I enrolled in LearningRx. Within three months, I was on fire. I could concentrate, handle awkward social situations, find motivation, put my creative ideas in paper. I attacked school with newfound strength. Last year I was the slowest kid in the class, but this year I am one of the fastest and smartest.
