It’s one thing to understand the words you’re reading. It’s another thing to grasp the deeper meaning behind those words. That’s where our ComprehendRx^® program can help! ComprehendRx^® is designed to work on reading comprehension by focusing on skills like:

Reading speed and accuracy
Picturing images and visualizing concepts
Expanding vocabulary when reading and writing
Remembering key information while reading
Processing complex sentences and language

One of the main focuses of ComprehendRx^® is a skill called visual processing. This is the cognitive skill that allows readers to picture mental images, which research shows is critical for reading comprehension. This skill plays a critical role in comparing ideas, making analogies, retaining information, and understanding abstract concepts.

Our Programs are Backed by Science

ComprehendRx^® has targeted reading comprehension and advanced reading skills for hundreds of LearningRx graduates. In research studies, kids and teens who’ve completed the ComprehendRx^® reading comprehension program have gained 2.7 years of reading comprehension skills on average! The largest reported gain was 3.8 years in understanding directions and additional percentile changes were also seen in reading fluency.

As with all LearningRx programs, ComprehendRx^® uses brain training to help learners make rapid gains. Brain training involves one-on-one sessions with a dedicated brain trainer, using one-on-one games and activities to target specific cognitive skills.

We saw significant improvement in our daughter’s reading ability and fluency and know that it was from the work she did during her sessions at LearningRx. Our daughter started LearningRx being unable to read. She could sound out CVC words but was unable to blend the sounds together to say the word. She is now able to sound out many words, blend them together, and even read words without having to sound them out. She is able to read short stories. The reason why I could succeed was that I was on ADHD medication, but the medication made me extremely depressed and enraged all of the time. When I stopped taking it, I was filled with great joy because of my newfound freedom. But something was still wrong. Without the medication, I forgot the first part of the sentence by the end of the second part of the sentence. My imagination never turned off, and despite going to school an hour early and tutoring for an hour after school, I barely passed with Cs. Then I enrolled in LearningRx. Within three months, I was on fire. I could concentrate, handle awkward social situations, find motivation, put my creative ideas in paper. I attacked school with newfound strength. Last year I was the slowest kid in the class, but this year I am one of the fastest and smartest.
