LearningRx has a positive and fun environment that makes learning fun for my 8-year-old who needs help with reading. All the staff are friendly and care about each individual child. In just a few short months I have seen a more positive attitude and more self confidence in my son.

He was getting distracted really easily by other students and noises in the classroom and it hindered his ability to stay on task. My child is happy to sit and read a book and can work through the words much more fluently than he did before LearningRx. He is finally at or a little above grade level. He is willing to try new things and tends to be less frustrated when he gets stuck (improved resiliency) and is willing to work it out to solve the problem.

Math was always a struggle for her and in the last month, she’s been completing her assignments on her own without asking for help at all (she used to ask for help at least a few times every assignment) and she’s been getting 90+% on every one! Her attitude toward school in general has improved tremendously. She no longer drags her feet when it’s time to work; has a smile on her face instead!

I turned 68 and finished my training at RX Learning in Charlottesville a few weeks ago. Michelle, my trainer, made my experience enjoyable, beneficial and relevant. Some of the many benefits of the program for me include: improved ability to maintain focus for longer periods of time; improved ability to ignore distractions; improved long and short term memory; acquisition of problem solving skills that I use on a regular basis; and most importantly – knowing that I can tackle everyday life issues with confidence and flexibility.
Micah’s ability to learn without ‘freezing’ is the biggest improvement. Micah’s abilities to spell, write, read, follow instruction have all drastically improved. Micah’s confidence has improved. His excitement of learning has skyrocketed.
My son has gained much more confidence and focus while taking this course. He is more organized and willing to take on challenges knowing he can use the skills learned in Rx to work through any problem. He was not comfortable taking ADHD medicine prior to Rx and now we feel he may never need it!
The staff here is AMAZING. They are professional, experts in their field, & care about their students. Our child has greatly disliked reading & struggles meeting school standards. After starting LearningRx she has begun reading a chapter book for her free time & has fallen in love with reading! This is a huge win for her! Since completing my program, I have seen great improvement in my memory, comprehension, and processing speed. LearningRx made my completion of high school and transition to college a lot smoother. Eventually, I started to enjoy coming in and started to see improvements myself. Throughout the program, I felt like my spelling got better and many other things. Most of the trainers were very nice. Although training was 1.5 hours long, it felt like it flew by because not only are the drills effective, but they are also fun and challenging. I’m very thankful for your time and help continuing my growth.
Our daughter saw improvements in her reading skills and grew in her confidence of being a reader. She seems to enjoy reading more and asks to read extra pages when it’s time to turn off the lights at bedtime. Her memory skills were strengthened, too.
They have been easy to work with and have been accommodating with schedule changes. The issues being addressed concerning our son are showing signs of improvement.
I am so thankful for Kathi and LearningRx! I was able to get my mom’s memory assessed and it was better than we hoped. I completed a 6 month course of brain training with LearningRX…I found Dargan through the Stroke Comback club after his presentation there and I was hooked. I suffered a second stroke…and had to stop working as a Registered Nurse…Because of the stroke, I suffered memory and concentration issues and even lost reading and writing ability. LearningRX gave me the confidence to live on my own independently.
I decided to come to LearningRx because of my dyslexia and memory problems and how they were affecting my school work. Our son was struggling in school from the time he started Kindergarten. By 3rd grade our son was so frustrated and in tears over homework that I started to seek more answers…Then I found Learning RX. When we started this program he was on a Kindergarten to first-grade level at the age of eight. Shannon and Sofia did a spectacular job of encouraging and training a kid who has already significantly struggled in school and was very reluctant to engage in learning to open up out of her shell. They did an amazing job! To be fair, this is not an inexpensive tutoring service, but there is the potential for great improvement for kids who may have struggled with other academic support programs.
