Ben Utecht won a Super Bowl in 2007 while playing for the Indianapolis Colts. Ben was blessed with a strong career starting as with the Minnesota Gophers and being drafted by Tony Dungy and the Colts.
Despite his successful NFL career, Ben had suffered multiple concussions throughout his career and finally one of these concussions ended his playing career.
His concussions were causing difficulties with memory, attention and processing speed. He was blessed with 4 daughters and, given the issues in the NFL with CTE and early on-set dementia, he was fearful of losing his memory. In fact, Ben, also a gifted musician, wrote a song and music video to capture his concerns.
