Dr Elsie Rosa, Owner of LearningRx Cresskill

Dr. Elsie A Rosa

Executive Director

I completed my Ph.D. in Innovation in Curriculum and Instruction at Fordham University after more than two decades of working in education. My academic background also includes two master’s degrees: a Master of Science in Early Childhood Special Education from Fordham University and a Master of Science in Teaching Childhood Education from Pace University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from SUNY New Paltz.

Over the years, I’ve worked as a classroom teacher, school administrator, and instructional coach, helping schools strengthen instruction, support educators, and improve student outcomes. In my leadership roles in New York City, I focused on enhancing program quality, supporting staff development, and implementing best practices to better serve children, families, and educational communities. I met many families whose children were bright, hardworking, and motivated, yet continued to struggle despite supportive teachers, strong instruction, and appropriate accommodations. Parents often shared their frustration and heartache as they watched their children put in tremendous effort while still falling behind, feeling as though nothing truly addressed the root of the problem.

What I came to realize was that for many of these students, the challenge wasn’t the curriculum or the instruction itself. Instead, it was weaknesses in the underlying cognitive skills that make learning possible, such as attention, memory, processing speed, and reasoning. Traditional supports can provide temporary relief, but they often do not address these deeper cognitive issues.

That realization is what drew me to LearningRx. Unlike approaches that simply reteach content, modify curriculum, or add accommodations, LearningRx uses a research-based, one-on-one approach designed to strengthen the brain’s core learning skills. Backed by peer-reviewed medical, psychological, and educational research, this program offers families something different: meaningful change rather than temporary solutions.

What excites me most now is helping families find hope through brain training and watching students become more confident, independent, and capable than they ever imagined possible.

Beyond my professional work, I enjoy traveling the world, immersing myself in new cultures, discovering diverse cuisines, and gaining fresh perspectives that enrich both my personal life and professional outlook.

If you or someone you know is struggling with focus, memory, reading, math, studying, or problem-solving, I would love to connect and share how brain training can make an impactful difference. Please feel free to reach out to me at dr.elsie@learningrx.net.

Dr. Chun Zhang

I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with a PhD in Education in 2000. Having worked in different types of educational settings as a teacher, teacher trainer, and teacher researcher for over three decades, I found many students struggle regardless of having disabilities. For most of the students who struggle, getting an individualized education plan (IEP) or through accommodations via a Section 504 plan is the option. However, seeing students struggle for their school career or making slow progress, or graduating with weak learning skills for college and career has a significant impact on students and their families. The most unfortunate outcome is that children cannot get independent and find fulfilling jobs after more than 12 to 16 years of schooling when they continue to struggle as adults after graduating from high school and college.

During the pandemic, I began to notice and track the story of LearningRx and tried to understand the program, the logic and science evidence supporting this program, and its outcomes. Through meeting with multiple LearningRx owners whose children went through learningRx, I strongly believe in the intensive one on one brain/cognitive skills coaching/training program. This program can untangle the deep rooted causes of the learning struggles through strengthening the core cognitive skills (i.e., attention, focus, memory, processing and processing speed, logic and reasoning, and auditory processing) that regulate learning and performance. More importantly, the results and outcomes have been backed by over three decades of research through peer-reviewed medical, psychological, and educational journals and dissertations.

Just like a coach for our body, LearningRx is a coach for our brain. The life changing stories of more than 101000 children and adults are inspiring. I hope more children and adults will experience these life changing experiences that will make their learning easier, faster, better, and more enjoyable.
