Gabby Didn’t Let Her Dyslexia Define Her

How Has LearningRx Training Helped Clients with Dyslexia?

Dyslexia is the second most common diagnosis we work with at LearningRx (ADHD is the most common).  Recent data (based on results for over 3,000 clients diagnosed with dyslexia) shows significant gains in skills including memory, visual processing and auditory processing.  In fact, the average auditory processing gain for these clients was 4.9 years!  These cognitive skills improvements matter because these cognitive skill weaknesses are often the root cause as to how dyslexia is causing challenges.

LearningRx Improvements for Clients with Dyslexia and Struggling Readers

At LearningRx, we have decades of experience helping clients with reading difficulties, and we’ve built our programs through rigorous research and practice in this area. Today, roughly 1 in 10 students at LearningRx has come to us with a diagnosis of dyslexia.

While brain training isn’t a cure for dyslexia, it has helped kids and adults with dyslexia become stronger readers.   Among 3,082 kids and teens with dyslexia who completed our reading program, the average gain in reading skills was 3.5 years. And in a research study with 3,527 children, the average gain in phonological awareness was 5.8 years in just 24 weeks

Gabby’s LearningRx Training

Gabby was very bright, but she struggled due to her dyslexia diagnosis. Despite her difficulties, Gabby was very driven and worked hard to overcome her dyslexia, but she still felt dyslexia “defined” her.

At LearningRx Savage, we do not “un-diagnose” an individual with dyslexia, but we are focused on addressing the root cause with the goal of reducing or eliminating the symptoms of the diagnosis. This was the case for Gabby. Her training strengthened her core skills and gave her the confidence to know that she is not defined by dyslexia. Now combining her stronger cognitive skills with her drive to succeed, Gabby is excelling and is now in her third year of medical school!

The First Step for Individuals with Dyslexia

The first step to help yourself or your loved one is to schedule an assessment at LearningRx Savage.  This standardized assessment takes less than one hour and will enable us to identify how the dyslexia diagnosis is manifesting and enable a path to improve skills.  Or, if you have recently completed a neuropsych evaluation, we can use that information as a starting point.  To schedule an assessment or to learn more about our training and how we help individuals with dyslexia, please give us a call or stop in!

Results are from past clients. You or your loved ones may or may not achieve the same outcomes, but you can learn more about our research and results here.
