Owners of LearningRx Richmond Hill

Jeri Situ & Khai Woo

Owners & Directors

Hello! We are Jeri and Khai, the owners and directors of LearningRx-Richmond Hill. Our decision to open a LearningRx location stemmed from a strong belief in the importance of cognitive skills training and its ability to transform lives. We recognized a growing need in our community for services that go beyond traditional tutoring—services that address the root causes of learning struggles by strengthening core cognitive skills. Our mission is to provide a supportive and results-driven environment where individuals of all ages can unlock their true potential.

Khai brings over a decade of experience as a high school teacher, where he worked extensively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning abilities, including many who faced significant learning challenges. His years in the classroom provided him with first-hand insight into the frustrations that students and families experience when traditional approaches fall short. This experience fuels his passion for offering an evidence-based alternative through brain training, helping students not only improve their academic performance but also gain confidence and independence.

Jeri holds an MBA and comes from a professional background in financial services. While her career path began in the corporate world, her true passion has always been working with youth and supporting their growth. She is deeply committed to helping individuals overcome obstacles, develop resilience, and achieve their goals. Her blend of business expertise and dedication to personal development allows her to guide the centre with both strategic insight and heartfelt care for the families served.

When Jeri and Khai are not at the centre, they enjoy exploring local nature trails and staying active outdoors. They also share a love for games that challenge the mind, with Bananagrams being one of their favorites. These personal passions reflect their belief in lifelong learning, curiosity, and the joy of engaging both mind and body.

Prudence

Brain Trainer

I became part of the LearningRx-Richmond Hill family in 2021. With an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo, where I majored in Psychology and minored in Biology, I’ve always been fascinated by how we think, grow, and connect. Today, I’m pursuing my Master’s and PhD in Clinical and Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto, driven by a deep passion for mental health and lifelong learning.

My journey has led me through meaningful work with the York Region District School Board and immersive mental health research at Sunnybrook hospital, giving me the privilege of working alongside individuals from a wide array of ages, cultures, and with different life experiences. These moments remind me every day that learning isn’t just academic – it’s deeply personal. I wholeheartedly believe that strengthening foundational learning skills is the key to unlocking one’s full potential. When learning is joyful and empowering, it fuels our inner drive and helps us fall in love with the process itself.

As a trainer, I take immense pride in celebrating every victory – big or small – with my students. Watching their confidence grow is the most rewarding part of what I do, because I believe that confidence in one self is the gateway to a lifelong love of learning.

When I’m not training, you can find me hanging out with friends, playing badminton, or indulging in cozy evenings filled with movies and TV shows! I’m also an avid traveler- nothing fills my soul quite like discovering nature’s beauty and connecting with people from around the world.
