Why Homeschoolers Choose LearningRx

Do you ever wish it could be less of a battle to get your child to do school?

Are you hitting a wall with every new curriculum or program you try, wondering if you’ll ever find the right fit for your child’s needs? The problem is likely not a lack of motivation, the wrong curriculum, or the teaching methods you’re using… Struggles like these are almost always rooted in weak cognitive skills. At LearningRx, we partner with homeschool families to make the learning process smoother by targeting and strengthening the brain skills we use for life and learning.

Here are some stand-out reasons why homeschoolers choose LearningRx:

Fits into your rhythm — Because sessions are one-on-one and individualized, your child’s training can weave into your homeschool schedule seamlessly.

Remote & in-person options — Your child can train from home or come into a LearningRx center — the same program, same results, with flexibility to meet your family’s needs.

Strengthens the foundation — Our programs don’t teach curriculum; they target cognitive skills (like attention, memory, processing speed, reasoning) so learning any subject becomes easier.

Research backing & expert oversight — With decades of research and dozens of published studies on our methods, we have evidence backing the effectiveness of our interventions + continual oversight by a team of doctorate-level experts.

Benefits beyond academics — When the internal processing works more smoothly, students rely less on hand-holding and more on their own capabilities. Clients have reported improvements in areas like independent work, motivation, and confidence after brain training.

“As homeschoolers, we were stuck in several areas of [our daughter’s] studies and couldn’t figure out what was missing… After putting her through the program at age 12, not only did her problem-solving skills improve, but there was also peace in teaching her again because things were connecting that never had before! Now a freshman in college, our daughter is thriving and experiencing academic achievements she never would have had we not understood and addressed her obstacles with the help of LearningRx. It’s the gift that keeps on giving and we are beyond grateful!”

What Makes a Homeschool Brain Training Program Special?

Unlike tutoring, which addresses content, our homeschool brain training program strengthens how the brain learns. We specifically target and improve key cognitive skills so your child’s brain becomes more efficient across all subjects.

In addition to targeted training for cognitive skills, we have intensive program options for reading, math, and comprehension, designed to up-level your child’s capacity for learning.

The First Step?

A cognitive assessment will show us your child’s unique strengths and weaknesses so we can tailor-make a program designed to help them break down barriers and begin learning more easily.

The answers you’ll get from this test will help guide your homeschool journey for years to come. By understanding how your child’s brain learns, you’ll be better prepared to meet their needs and give them the tools they need to succeed!

“K. was really struggling as a student going into the 2nd grade. She had only been homeschooled. No matter what skills I tried, she was only reading on a kindergarten level, and now within 6 months she is on grade level. Her confidence has grown, she is more focused during tasks, and her behavior is better.”

Common Questions from Homeschooling Families

Q: Will this replace the curriculum I’m already using?
A: No: brain training is meant to augment your curriculum and teaching efforts by strengthening the brain’s ability to learn.

Q: Do you help with core subjects like math and reading?
A: Yes! Our brain training programs all start with laying the groundwork to make sure cognitive skills (attention, memory, processing speed, logic, visual processing, and auditory processing) are strong enough to be able to access new content, then we layer on intensive support for reading and math if those are areas of concern.

Q: How long does a LearningRx brain training program last?
A: Each student is different; typical programs range in length from 3-9+ months, but we will review all of your options with you based on the results of the cognitive skills assessment and what goals you have for your child.

Q: Can we train purely remotely?
A: Yes, our remote platform provides the same level of individualized instruction as in-person brain training, with the convenience of you being able to do it from home.

Q: How much does brain training cost?
A: The total cost of LearningRx programs varies widely depending on the scope and goals we decide on together. After we have the cognitive assessment results, we’ll give you exact options based on program type, amount of sessions recommended, and delivery method.

Q: Do you diagnose ADHD or dyslexia for homeschooled students?
A: No, our cognitive assessment is designed to measure the strength or weakness of core cognitive skills we use for thinking, learning, and life. While diagnoses are helpful in some cases, we don’t assign labels based on symptoms or skill levels and instead work one-on-one to target areas that are weak so learning can become easier.
