Our daughter has ADHD and on meds that were helpful but she kept running into the same roadblocks academically: poor organization, not completing tasks, avoiding work…So I searched for help and found Learning RX. The training was slow going but improved steadily and I was noticing an improvement in her grades and her confidence. One year later she only made 1 C and is setting goals for her grades. We reached out to LearningRX when our son was about to enter the fifth grade. There had been many struggles through traditional public school with reading and keeping up with math facts and focus in general…when we went to LearningRX they helped us understand that it was a processing skill that was needing to be relearned. The biggest change we saw in him was his ability to listen, focus and pay attention. He is now able to keep himself on task and focused on what he is doing while also listening to those around him. He has been able to listen and not need for it to be repeated, while also retaining what he heard to apply or question it later.
LearningRx in Raleigh, NC has been the best decision we have made for our daughter. Our daughter has enjoyed LearningRx and went from struggling to finish assignments to completing them and doing them correctly. She never wanted to read on her own without prompting and now will pick up books by herself to read. She said this is her best school year so far which is a huge change from the previous years. My 15-year old was struggling with getting school work done and for the first time lacked confidence that he could do it. LearningRx’s program is absolutely amazing and has made such a HUGE impact on our daughters’ life. When our daughter started this program, at 6 years old, she could barely recognize/recall the alphabet or count past 10 and now, at 7 years old, she is able to read 4 letter words and do difficult addition math problems. She went from having zero confidence in the classroom and trying to hide, to occasionally raising her hand to answer questions. Not only is the program amazing but so are the staff. They all truly care about every student and want to make sure everyone succeeds.
He really connected with the tutors here works with Natalie and Illeana, and the sessions quickly became part of his routine without feeling overwhelming. The results speak for themselves. His reading skills have significantly improved from where he started, and we’ve seen his confidence grow along with his abilities.
I can comprehend what I read better, and my writing skills have generally improved (whether it is more reflective or academic writing). I have also noticed improvements in my overall memory. The activities completed each session were very helpful in my improvement.
Tatum is so much more willing to try hard things, his reading has improved tremendously. We recently had a parent/teacher conference, and his teacher had such great things to say about him. He is being a leader in his classroom (which is new for him), he is working hard, and his math and reading skills are right where they should be.
