LearningRx Success Stories: A Look Back at 2022

As the year comes to a close, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate all that has happened here at LearningRx in 2022. Our clients accomplish amazing things each year, and they are all worth celebrating!

Here are just a few LearningRx success stories from this year. Read on to learn about the impact LearningRx’s programs are having on the lives of our students and their families.

1. Improved Reading, Writing, Math, and Much More!

Since working with LearningRX, one student has experienced vast improvement in his writing, math, and reading skills, as well as in attention and confidence. Already a resourceful problem solver, this student is now paying more attention in school and staying focused better than before.

His trainer has reported that his writing has improved and he is sounding out words when reading instead of guessing. He has also been able to focus better at home when helping with chores.

Those around him have noticed that his reading has improved, he is able to write sentences better, and is starting to understand text messages. He is showing more effort and trying to read more often. And not only have his test scores improved, his confidence has grown leaps and bounds as well.

Plus, his behavior at school has improved so much that his teacher recommended removing that aspect of his IEP. Amazing!

2. More Focused and Confident

Another student came to LearningRx with trouble focusing and being easily distracted. She struggled to retain and comprehend what she was learning.

Now, she’s able to focus better, even in the midst of distractions. Her visualization has improved, which has helped her retain much more of what she reads. She’s retaining and comprehending better in math as well.

Her parents said she has gotten better about coming home and doing her homework on her own. They say she is less cognitively sluggish, and more able to handle and process input. Her grades have improved as well: the previous year, she had gotten a lot of Bs and Cs; now, she’s getting more A’s and Bs.

Even better, her confidence has increased, she’s less frustrated, and she has better relationships with her family and friends.

3. Better Grades, Better Perspective

Another student has also improved her visualization skills, as well as her focus and memory. Since working with LearningRx, her grades have improved (A’s with one high B!), and she is able to stay focused even when surrounded by distractions.

Her mom has noticed she is doing better at remembering what is told to her. She’s also found it easier to pick up new choreography in dance, and has been able to remember detailed descriptions. And while before test taking was difficult for this student, now her scores better reflect her hard work and knowledge.

Plus, she has become much more confident in herself. She no longer struggles with perfectionism and the anxiety of having to be perfect. When she first came to LearningRx, her stress levels were through the roof. Now, she’s much better able to enjoy her life.

She has been able to get past her “I don’t think I can” perspective to do much more than she previously thought she could.

4. Overcoming Challenges

And finally, another student has been able to overcome a lot of challenges through working with LearningRx. Here’s what they had to say:

“Before I started with LearningRx, I struggled with short-term memory and organization. But I can easily spot the difference now! I am so grateful for programs like LearningRx. Without it I would still be struggling so much. Thank you, LearningRx, you have made a big difference!

What Makes LearningRx’s Programs So Effective?

The work we do at LearningRx is crucial. So many kids come to us having been dismissed and forgotten by the system. In many cases, we’re the last line of hope for them and their families. What’s different about LearningRx is that we don’t see these kids as problems—we see them as people. And that makes all the difference.

At LearningRx, we create a safe place where tryin` and working hard is what counts as success. Our students learn that just because something is difficult, that doesn’t mean they’re not good at it: it simply means they haven’t practiced it yet! They learn how to try … and that builds confidence.

When a client begins working with us, we look at where they are getting stuck and what things are limiting their learning. We teach them that finding those spots isn’t a bad thing—it’s exciting! Once they learn it’s safe to try, they are able to accomplish much more than they thought they could.

Far too often, if a student learns differently and struggles to thrive in school, they get dismissed and pushed aside. Every person is unique, and every person learns in different ways. Our program builds off of each client’s learning style to strengthen their cognitive skills. Ultimately, it’s not about intelligence or capability—it’s about cognitive skills. And it’s never too late to strengthen those skills.
