My 24 year old daughter has Down Syndrome…Before Learning RX my daughter had tried many ways to learn to read, and she would always get stuck on blending words. Learning RX’s expertise on the brain and learning has proved that my daughter can read. She can blend words now and she’s believing in herself and gaining skills to help her into a more independent life. We are making huge strides just within 3 months!!
The transition from High School to College was rough (with COVID complications). My daughter’s confidence was shot and her focus was distracted as best given the unusual stressful events. Learning Rx was a God send. With my daughter’s commitment and the guidance of a highly inspirational instructor, my daughter improved her memory and ability to tune out distractions. She learned how to establish a plan for study patterns and follow through on that plan. Her confidence level is remarkably better and is supported by her improved performance at college.
I was very pleased with the service I received from LearningRX. My child was substantially delayed when we entered the program. After 150+ lessons my daughter was able to correct her deficiencies and more importantly the skills she learned will help her in the future. In addition, I must mention professionalism of the entire team through frequent check-in meetings/follow-ups about the progress child is making as well as inquiring about anything additional they can do.
The skills that my daughter developed while working with Francesca are invaluable. My daughter’s improved reading skills alone are life changing; they will affect nearly every class she attends, and will probably affect her career choice. Her improved attention and listening abilities have reduced her frustration with school subjects, and thus make her more compliant. She doesn’t panic when she can’t immediately decode a word or grasp a concept. She has learned that there are strategies to make these challenges manageable.
My 15-year old was struggling with getting school work done and for the first time lacked confidence that he could do it. Middle school had been effortless but remote high school was proving to be a problem. Specifically he was having problems reading and retaining the story and meaning of the Odyssey. The journey through LearningRX not only worked on his learning skills but also on the mindset that my son can push through the hard work and do things he did not think he could. The confidence he got from the program is priceless.
My daughter shows a dramatic improvement in reading comprehension, memory, concentration, and confidence. She takes initiative to read for fun now. Her memory is also significantly improved. She’s more confident reading, writing, and crunching numbers. And she’s happier and more confident and I don’t know what better metric I personally need as a father.
LearningRx was instrumental in helping my son build skills to cope with ADHD. The trainer and the staff care about the child and that is extremely important for the success of any training program. LearningRx is truly a milestone in my son’s life, and we will come back for the coaching and mentoring programs as he progresses in his academic life.
We have two children who are half way through the program and so far we are pleased with the results. The trainers have laid the foundation that will allow our children to excel in the second half of their programs. We can see their confidence growing and we look forward to them improving in all academic areas especially reading comprehension.
I started LearningRx knowing what it can do having been a past trainee and was specific about developing my short term and long-term memory and ability to process information faster. I graduated with a very noticeably improved mind. I can read my bank routing and remember it now. I recall people’s names, and I can hear a joke and remember it 4 hours later. I used to struggle with groups of information and now I can process it and make it work for me!
Our plan was individually tailored to our daughter’s needs, with essential measure of success and effectiveness built into it. Everyone involved, from the director to the trainer, support staff, etc. were very helpful. Lastly, high levels of communication were maintained and encouraged throughout the process.
My son has gained much more confidence and focus while taking this course. He is more organized and willing to take on challenges knowing he can use the skills learned in Rx to work through any problem. He was not comfortable taking ADHD medicine prior to Rx and now we feel he may never need it!
Dargan and Michelle were amazing to work with at LearningRx Charlottesville, walking along side us each step of the way and doing everything they could to make our experience a successful one. Their expertise and compassion was just what my son needed to help get him to the next level of his cognitive development. We’ve tried a lot of other modalities in the past, and I’d highly recommend giving LearningRx a chance!
My daughter trained here for almost a year. It was the best decision and commitment we could have made! She emerged an entirely new student and adolescence. She has problem solving skills and the confidence to apply them now. She has the work ethic to keep going when things get tough. Honestly I just can’t say enough great things about what this program did for my daughter!
My son struggled hard with reading. The approach to learning has helped him flourish. His reading comprehension is by and far improved, and he is reading whole pages without stumbling. Highly recommend for all ages and learning styles, for ADD/ADHD and other learning disabilities. It’s one thing for us to be proud of his progress, but it’s something wholly different for him to be proud and confident.
I turned 68 and finished my training at RX Learning in Charlottesville a few weeks ago. Michelle, my trainer, made my experience enjoyable, beneficial and relevant. Some of the many benefits of the program for me include: improved ability to maintain focus for longer periods of time; improved ability to ignore distractions; improved long and short term memory; acquisition of problem solving skills that I use on a regular basis; and most importantly – knowing that I can tackle everyday life issues with confidence and flexibility.
We began in the last month of a school year, with my 12 year old, flighty, eccentric little girl. On the side over the summer, this kid who always wanted to read along with audio books started reading chapter books for fun. I was encouraged. Then school started. We just finished our first week, and I noticed HUGE gains in her work. She focuses even on “boring” textbook reading really well, and her retention and comprehension is fantastic. I know she’s going to be able to make up for lost time on reading, writing, and math. I even noticed handwriting improvement!
Ashley was absolutely wonderful for my son Jack. She was so patient with him and seemed to know exactly how to encourage him in the moment. I saw my son go from someone who spiraled in his thoughts to be able to think clearly and analyze them in a gentle way. He’s more confident in himself and how he expresses his emotions conversationally and internally. Very happy with the outcome.
My son had a TBI (due to an AVM) at the age of 19. We were told about LearningRx and that they were very successful with TBI patients. We attended for 8 months. It was not an easy journey for him, but with his trainer, Will, Dargan and the staff at LearningRX he might not have possibly accomplished what he has done in the past 10 years. Since then he has graduated with an Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, assistant coach/head coach of his middle school since 2014. Happily married, two beautiful boys, and just passed his physical trainer test.
The director and staff of trainers are awesome. They demonstrated their care and concern for my successful completion of the program each time I had class. I have spoken highly of them to others and recommended them to several people that I felt could benefit from the program.
After covid my son found himself 2 1/2 years behind in reading. With ADHD and Dyslexia and so much time missed in the classroom he needed more help then the school could offer. After 9 months we have seen tremendous progress. It is a big commitment both financially and time but it was worth it.
We signed our daughter up for sessions at LearningRx while she was struggling with 7th grade Civics. The trainers were great, forming personal connections with her, which helped her be more open to the curriculum and sessions. LearningRx gave us regular progress updates, and they were very encouraging of her progress.
Our son was barely reading in 4th grade and now he is reading confidently and enjoying it. He volunteers to read regularly and there has been a huge change in his attitude as well because he is confident in his reading! If you are on the fence just do it! It’s a lot but so worth it!
LearningRx introduced me to the term “neuroplasticity,” and I have seen its effects in both of my sons…Not only did their grades improve at the time, but in the years since then, they have continued to benefit from the skills they developed from their LearningRx training. The improved ability to focus is one such skill…My other son benefitted especially in the area of math skills, and he is still able to mentally perform math calculations with amazing speed.
This is an evidence-based training that was conducted with the utmost organization and professionalism and resulted in appreciable improvements in my child’s school performance but more importantly, on his well-being. This was money well invested. I had contact with four different staff members, all very knowledgeable and professional. My child’s trainer was fantastic. Her commitment to my child’s improvement was evident.
My trainer, Telisa, was exceptional, and I am incredibly grateful to have had such a motivating yet challenging individual to coach me through this extremely difficult program. I wish my friends, and family could experience this type of training, which I believe improves nearly every aspect of your life regarding decision-making, behavior, and overall self-confidence.
During and after training we have seen a lot of great improvements in my son. There was a big leap in maturity and ability to think reasonably and logically about situations and problems. His task endurance has gone up significantly. Reading ability has improved. Overall his grades at school are really good. His ability to participate in group work has greatly improved. We are 4 months into my 10yr old daughter’s brain training. I could not be more grateful for this program. Her trainer Francesca is AMAZING she really took her time getting to know my daughter so she can train and encourage her well. I have been so impressed with everyone’s knowledge and communication…My daughter is already feeling more confident in school during both reading and math. I am so glad we found LearningRx!
I’m a little over four months into the program, and overall everything has been fantastic. Nick has been a wonderful trainer, helping push my mental skills to their limits. I’ve seen improvements to my focus and concentration, and most importantly to me, I’ve felt much more confident In just about every way. I’m looking forward to taking the skills we’ve refined into furthering my education.
LearningRx has been so awesome and such a blessing for me!…I had never really planned ahead well or been an organizer type of person, but I had done well in school. So we found LearningRx, and in addition to my already recognized struggles, their pre-assessment revealed other areas of weaknesses that needed to be addressed. My focus and concentration have gotten a lot better, and it is harder to be distracted, by myself or others. My working memory and ability to use logic to figure various daily scenarios out has also improved…I would highly recommend LearningRx to others!
Shannon and Sofia did a spectacular job of encouraging and training a kid who has already significantly struggled in school and was very reluctant to engage in learning to open up out of her shell. They did an amazing job! To be fair, this is not an inexpensive tutoring service, but there is the potential for great improvement for kids who may have struggled with other academic support programs.
Our daughter started the ReadRx program in November, mid-pandemic. At the halfway point she was reading at grade level, and reading magazines and chapter books – for fun! Her reading continued to improve…and by the time she finished, we saw huge improvements in her processing speed and ability to recall information. The program is hard work, but worth every bit of effort!
Learning RX has been such an amazing experience for my 7 year old son who most likely has dyslexia. We are so happy with the results and are amazed at how reading is now so much easier for him than it was before. He can now effortlessly blend 3 letter words together whereas before he started training there he could hardly blend 2 letter words and hated reading. Now it’s coming much easier and his confidence is high and reading is much more enjoyable!
My son has been in the LearningRx program for two months. He is enjoying the work and sessions with the trainer. He is already noticing improvement with his memory, mental processing speed and self-confidence.

Learning RX has been very beneficial for my 11 year old. I can see improvements already (just about 3 months) with her memory, attention and focus. She is also building confidence as she progresses through the exercises and the various levels. With her learning challenges, she has always struggled with self-esteem. Her trainer is hands-down amazing. She gives her the perfect amount of support while also pushing her to keep going forward when things get really challenging. It’s obvious she has a genuine interest and deeply cares about my daughter’s progress and future success.
We reached out to LearningRX when our son was about to enter the fifth grade. There had been many struggles through traditional public school with reading and keeping up with math facts and focus in general…when we went to LearningRX they helped us understand that it was a processing skill that was needing to be relearned. We have been with LearningRX for several months now and have seen a lot of change in our son with confidence to face new things.
Leah’s trainer was amazing. She was very patient with Leah. Even when Leah would get distracted or discouraged Ana would be able to talk to Leah and encourage her. Leah has come a long way and it all thanks to everyone at Learning RX. Leah’s confidence in herself and in what she has learned has increased significantly! She is now eager to learn new things and read. She has come so far and I am excited to see all she can achieve now.
Following a hospital stay for long Covid, I became aware that LearningRx was offering a program to help clients that had experienced this disease. The program was creative, and I actually enjoyed the cognitive challenge of each session as I advanced thru the skills . Following this program I feel that I am now much more productive than I use to be and it’s easier to adjust to changes in routines.
We couldn’t thank the team at LearningRx enough! My oldest has ADHD and he was facing some pretty serious learning struggles. LearningRx has helped my son overcome some of these struggles. Dargan went into an in-depth dive into my son’s brain and how his brain works. I was in tears (good tears) when I saw his results. We finally had answers, and a new doorway opened up for us. Brain training at LearningRx was an excellent choice!
His growth has extended beyond academics. His youth director even commented on his improved focus and ability to take detailed notes during lessons. He now contributes thoughtfully in group discussions and isn’t afraid to raise his hand and share insights.
What an amazing experience! Our child (8) with ADHD and likely dyslexia had difficulty picking up reading/spelling/language before this program. He is now on track for his age and grade for reading but his memory, focus, and brain stamina have all exponentially expanded. Would highly recommend.

My son was reluctant to sign up, but became more engaged once he started making progress. Further along in Learning RX, he became a self starter with his school work and could stay on task for longer periods of time with his improved focus, and ability to tackle more difficult material.
