This Summer It’s Time for an Evidence Based Approach

This summer it’s time for an evidence based approach!  It’s the time of year that many families look for summer tutoring options.  But maybe this year is the time to review your options and consider something evidence based.

If you have a child who struggled this past school year, now is the time to provide an intervention to help them keep up or ideally, get past their difficulties.  The most common strategy is tutoring.  However, is this your best option?  Is there actual evidence showing tutoring works?  And if you do choose to tutor, who do you trust to drive results?

Especially for families doing tutoring year-after-year, it’s a great time to investigate alternatives – ideally alternatives that are evidence based.

To date, there have been over 40 studies completed on our cognitive training methodology and 17 of these have been published by researchers in peer-reviewed psychology, medical, and educational journals.  This is a significant amount of research providing a convergence of evidence that LearningRx training really works.

In addition, we have a significant amount of data demonstrating the same outcomes for individuals with general learning struggles or diagnosis like ADHD, dyslexia, autism, TBI, etc.

We have now been in the Woodbury area for almost 17 years with thousands of graduates.  In addition to the peer-reviewed research and data behind our training, we also average a 9.6 score out of 10 when we ask our clients to rate their likelihood to recommend us.  This is because our training drives strong results and we really care about the families we work with and do all we can to help.

So why is LearningRx training so effective compared to other options like tutoring or coaching?   Because our focus is to provide 1-on-1, individualized training that identifies and addresses the root cause of learning struggles.  When students have consistent struggles in areas like attention (ADHD), reading (dyslexia), math, executive function or motivation, usually the root cause relates to cognitive skills that are not where they need to be.  Cognitive skills are the core skills that enable effective learning like attention, working and long-term memory, visual and auditory processing, reasoning and processing speed.  Typical strategies like tutoring or school interventions are not addressing the root cause but providing more academic content or strategies to work around the struggles.  At LearningRx, we address the root cause directly which is why we have so many life changing stories!
