If these underlying skills haven’t been developed, a reading tutor might not be the right choice.

Our son was struggling with reading comprehension, and this was affecting many subjects as he entered middle school. He would study for tests and work on homework for hours at night. The grades he received did not reflect the work he was putting in which led to much frustration. Tutoring and extra help at school did not seem to help.
