LearningRx Student Gains Confidence, Improves in Reading, and Builds Attention Skills

Clients approach us at LearningRx for help in a variety of situations. Maybe it’s reading or math struggles, maybe it’s a new learning disability diagnosis and they just need some guidance, or maybe it’s trouble with attention and focus that is holding their child back. Whatever brings people into the doors, one of the most exciting changes we get to witness as brain trainers is improved confidence in our students.

Check out what David has to say about his own experience at LearningRx:

LearningRx Student Gains Confidence, Improves in Reading, and More!

What Causes Attention Struggles?

David came to us as a struggling student who was always distracted, never fully engaged in the classroom, and falling behind in reading and other subject areas. While attention struggles weren’t his only concern, they were some of the most disruptive.

Attention is one of the automatic skills that your brain needs to have in order to learn effectively. After all, if you can’t focus, you can’t learn anything! There are several different kinds of attention, and weaknesses in any (or all of them) impact your ability to learn:

  • Selective attention is your ability to ignore distractions and focus on one task at a time.
  • Divided attention is your ability to multitask and put your focus on multiple tasks at once.
  • Sustained attention is your ability to hold your focus for a longer period of time.

These are all unique skills that brain training strengthens! If your child is constantly labeled as “distracted,” “uninterested,” “disengaged,” or “struggling,” there is a reason why. Weak attention skills impact all other skills and every subject area, and strengthening attention is one of the best ways to set your child up for success in school and life.

How Does LearningRx Train Attention?

As David mentioned in his video, there were a few games that he really enjoyed during his program at LearningRx. Our programs target a wide range of cognitive skill strengths and weaknesses, but the program is more than just the activities.

Our one-on-one approach is unique in that our trainers are able to target the hard areas in order to completely customize each program. Beyond that, we incorporate distractions and mental activities to take training sessions to the next level. These extras also build in attention-skill-training into all other procedures in the program!

LearningRx Has Been A Gateway to Greater Confidence*

We love hearing David’s own self-reported gains in confidence—and even feeling proud of himself.

Confident kids aren’t arrogant or cocky. Instead, they are resilient self-advocates who can bounce back from hard situations and stand up for what they deserve in all situations.

Building confidence in your child is a priceless investment in their future success. Virtually every client who graduates from LearningRx reports greater confidence.* These are real-life changes that parents, teachers, peers, and the students themselves report, and it is a change that pays off for years down the road.

If your child is struggling with confidence, reading, focus, or learning, don’t put it off. Taking steps to actively change the way your child’s brain learns NOW can prevent years of struggle down the road! Give us a call today to learn more.

*Clients and research studies reported these results. You or your child may or may not experience the same outcomes.
