Students need a strong sense of how numbers work, plus strong skills including short-term and long-term memory, logic and reasoning, and sustained attention skills. Thinking in numbers and quantities
Reading and writing math calculations
Analyzing and solving math problems

We have seen a huge improvement in his math scores at school and his ability to stay on task at home while working on homework.”

Your child may or may not achieve the same results as past LearningRx clients. But give us a call. We’d love to work with you, too!

Brain Training or Tutoring for Math Skills?

If you’re looking for math help, a math tutor might seem similar to brain training. In fact, brain training and math tutoring involve different approaches, and each one works best for different types of learners.

A math tutor will take a similar approach to teaching math that kids find at school. This can be helpful for students who’ve missed classes or benefit from repeating material. However, if students are having trouble in math class because they need to strengthen underlying skills, they’ll have just as much trouble with math tutoring.

This is where brain training offers a different approach to math help. Rather than simply repeating classroom content, brain training has helped students build the underlying cognitive skills that students use for math. The goal is for students to understand math more quickly, easily, and naturally all on their own.

Great program! My son completed about 4 months of the program and made such a huge change! I wasn’t for sure until I saw the numbers go up! The program director Mrs Donesa was great and very accommodating! My son’s instructor was also great as well, they align the kids to who suits them best, which is great! I would highly recommend.

LearningRx has been a transformative experience for my son. We chose it because we wanted to strengthen his cognitive skills, not just his academic performance. From the very first session, I noticed his confidence growing. The personalized, one-on-one approach helped target areas like attention, memory, and processing speed – skills that are often the root of learning challenges. His progress has been remarkable.

Karen (Shreveport, LA)

We found LearningRx when we were seeking help for our 10 year old son, Gabe. Every year at school, we were told that his reading is below grade level. This was exhibited at home with nightly struggles to complete homework, usually entailing two hours of arguing, tears and frustration to complete 15 minutes of homework. Almost immediately, Gabe was reading things at random out loud to us. When school started in the fall, he started doing his homework by himself, without the usual coaxing and arguing.

LearningRx was a wonderful program for my son!! The tutors are very caring, I felt they were just as excited as my husband, and I were with the progression of our son. The program has instilled skills and learning techniques that will help him throughout his education. Thanks LearningRx, and I recommend the program to any and all parents seeking help with their students!!

Yolanda (Shreveport, LA)

He now has confidence to raise his hand to answer questions out loud in class & reads out loud when asked to at school & church. He is making good grades & is very proud of himself as we are all proud of him! He no longer hates school & is looking forward to being in Junior High. He will begin the LearningRx reading comprehension program this summer to help boost him even farther!

Susan (Shreveport, LA)

Highly recommend LearningRx! As someone who was in college struggling with college algebra, LearningRx really helped me out with learning it in a simpler way than any teacher could’ve done.

Spencer (Shreveport, LA)

LearningRx gave me confidence and essential processing skills I needed for the future. I saw that when I worked at it, I could pass any level given to me, even if it seemed difficult at first. At school I began to finish tests more quickly and some homework assignments that I had were done faster than I thought they would take. Now that I have trained at LearningRx, I truly feel happier because of the amazing strides I have made from going though the program.

Adam (Shreveport, LA)

LearningRX helped my son tremendously his IQ increased beyond the average..The care that is given to your child from those who have a genuine heart..I highly recommend this program if your child is struggling with ADHD & Dyslexia you will not regret it…It has been a big sacrifice but it’s worth it!!

De (Shreveport, LA)

When Katrina first came to LearningRx, we had a frustrated, almost angry daughter who was having a difficult time at school and receiving poor grades. To our delight, Katrina has made a transformation back into her true self in many ways. She’s happy again, speaking positively about her work, her performance, school, and herself in general. For the first time she wants to share what happened at school. She has shown such an attitude switch in many areas, we are thrilled.

Jane (Shreveport, LA)

LearningRx is an incredible learning facility! When I first enrolled my niece, she struggled with reading and comprehension. It was incredibly hard to keep her focused. We feared that she may have to repeat 2nd grade but after the patience and guidance of her trainer, Mr. Phil, she ended the school year with Honor Roll and a ticket to 3rd grade! Donesa and her staff are amazing.

Hanna (Shreveport, LA)

When I first came to LearningRx I was not sure they could help me. I had not learned how to focus and I had real problems with math—all kinds. Then I began to see results of the training as did others around me. The most drastic results were noticed by my math tutor. She could not believe the focus and memory that I now had.

Annie (Shreveport, LA)

I highly recommend this program for any child facing academic challenges. The staff was highly professional and accommodating, working around our schedule to provide the most convenient time slots. Their genuine concern and dedication to student success were evident throughout. They truly care about their students’ progress and well-being.

Tisha (Shreveport, LA)

Through his hard work and Donesa and her team’s dedication, his reading improved TREMENDOUSLY! I cannot thank them enough for giving my son his confidence back and the security to know that he can accomplish anything.

Shona (Shreveport, LA)

My daughter struggled with mathematics. The training and tutoring offered by LearningRx is a game changer.

Hugo (Shreveport, LA)

Donesa and her team are phenomenal. The improvement we have seen in both of our children is amazing. Well worth the time and money.

SM (Shreveport, LA)

LearningRx was one of the best decisions we made this year! Our grandson was struggling in his high school senior year and this team turned him around :). Plus he enjoyed all of his sessions and his interactions with everyone there. His improvement in every area was incredible. Thank you!

ML (Shreveport, LA)

They truly know how to make kids feel at ease, turning what could be a stressful experience into an exciting and enjoyable one. I believe every parent should take the opportunity to assess their child’s learning abilities. Understanding where they are academically and cognitively is so important for effective learning and growth. LearningRx in Shreveport is a game-changer. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to give their child a solid foundation for success!

TND (Shreveport, LA)

After first grade she had continued to fall behind. School work overwhelmed her and was often brought home to be completed along with her assigned homework. It took her hours to do everything even with help and she was frustrated every evening. Then we had her tested at LearningRx. At the beginning of 5^th grade. She has completed the Read program. Her dyslexia always made reading difficult for her, although she loved to be read to and had great comprehension skills when she listened to this story.

Ben & Jenny (Shreveport, LA)

Learning Rx has provided tangible solutions for our child, support for us as parents, and boosted not only her academic ability but her confidence. We are grateful for our journey and for the amazing staff at Learning Rx.

Maranda & Sas (Shreveport, LA)

Desmond has been known in school for his high intelligence and ability to catch on to concepts and even help his peers understand. Yet, even from a young age he was sometimes labeled as “defiant” or “lazy” because he would forget to put away a chair, or turn in his homework, or even remember to write down he had homework. LearningRx has been an answer to prayer. Desmond has had improvement in memory, articulation, processing, being able to hurry, being less overwhelmed. He gained confidence as his desires and his performance began to match up. Thank you!

Mike (Shreveport, LA)

We had a great experience with LearningRx and have had a lot of growth academically. The staff is wonderful, and we would do it all over again.

Lindsey (Shreveport, LA)

After I attended LearningRx my work started taking me half the time! I would recommend LearningRx to anyone with a slow work pace… it’s fast and easy and really works!

Bryan (Shreveport, LA)

Before coming to LearningRx, I was on medication for ADD and was having a difficult time concentrating and staying focused on tasks. Just a couple weeks after starting my training, I stopped taking my medication and saw improvements in my daily activities. I am able now to focus on finishing a task once its started. I can remember things much better now as well such as things I need to do or grocery lists. The most significant improvement I have seen is in my attention.

Amanda (Vivian, LA)

Love this place. It has been such a great experience. We have a wonderful trainer who cares about our child and their growth. Donesa has been such a wonderful person to work with. She is very professional and accommodating. Her knowledge is unmatched. North Louisiana is blessed to have such a place to help our children overcome learning challenges.

Megan (Shreveport, LA)

This is an awesome program, my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia and LearningRx really helped her to improve in her reading and her self-esteem skyrocketed. Chloe’s behavior has gotten better in the classroom and her grades greatly improved. Donesa Walker and her staff are amazing. I would recommend this program if you wanted to see your child improve in the classroom.

Tammie (Shreveport, LA)

Last year, Kayla had a tough time concentrating, being organized, and completing tasks set for her. She was struggling in school and had low self-esteem. We knew she needed more help than we could give her. We received the flyer for LearningRx in the mail, attended the seminar, and have never looked back. LearningRx addressed all of Kayla’s needs and after the program was over we have our smart and self-confident daughter back again!

Brett (Shreveport, LA)

From day 1 to the last day training, Trenton’s ability to comprehend and retain any material that’s presented to him has greatly improved and has translated into better grades on his report card. Not only has his comprehension and retention improved, but his confidence has also improved because of LearningRx. It has been great experience with LearningRx, and we would recommend this program to any parent whose child needs that extra helping hand.

Alanna (Stonewall, LA)

My son has been going to LearningRx since about August. He is now in Junior Honor Society for his school. This is brand new for him. I highly recommend this place. It is really an investment in your child’s future and well worth the cost!

Julie (Shreveport, LA)

I decided to come to LearningRx because of my dyslexia and memory problems and how they were affecting my school work. As I worked through the LearningRx program I noticed significant gains in my memory and how fast I work through things. I noticed that I can read a lot faster and that I remember to turn in my homework or information for tests. LearningRx helped me improve my school work and I feel a lot more confident with everything I do. LearningRx has made all the difference in the world.

Kelsea (Shreveport, LA)

Hearing the news that your daughter has dyslexia is quite frightening. As a parent all you see is your bright, beautiful, and perfect little girl. Your first thought is fear, but then you want to help. Reaching out to LearningRx was the best academic decision we could have ever made for her. They have the sweetest staff, and we were blessed with the best trainer. She has truly transformed my daughter to a reader. Her confidence level when reading has tripled. Through all of the whining and complaining, they pushed through.

Brittany (Many, LA)

The reason why I could succeed was that I was on ADHD medication, but the medication made me extremely depressed and enraged all of the time. When I stopped taking it, I was filled with great joy because of my newfound freedom. But something was still wrong. Without the medication, I forgot the first part of the sentence by the end of the second part of the sentence. My imagination never turned off, and despite going to school an hour early and tutoring for an hour after school, I barely passed with Cs. Then I enrolled in LearningRx. Within three months, I was on fire. I could concentrate, handle awkward social situations, find motivation, put my creative ideas in paper. I attacked school with newfound strength. Last year I was the slowest kid in the class, but this year I am one of the fastest and smartest.

Mark (Shreveport, LA)

We have been LearningRx clients for over a year and I have been blown away at the progress our student has achieved in this short time! Donesa and her team are absolute academic angels!

Mario (Shreveport, LA)

Now I can finally read and sound out words! I can now read because of Mrs. Donesa and the LearningRx program! Before LearningRx, I thought I was just dumb! Some kids made fun of me because I could not read our sound out words. I did not like myself very much. Now I do! I can now participate in classes at school and church and not be embarrassed or afraid to read out loud or give answers like the other students. I am finally making decent grades! Now my mom cries when I read to her because I can read!

Tanner (Shongaloo, LA)

As we celebrate her graduation, we can positively share that those nights have been replaced with a love for reading and a strong sense of self-confidence. Julie will tell anyone and everyone that LearningRx is the reason she now knows how to read and what strategies she knows to help her with her dyslexia. We cannot express the thanks and gratitude we have for all the staff at LearningRx Shreveport for truly caring for Julie. The Director, Donesa is top-notch and an advocate for the clients and family. The trainers are outstanding.

Dex (Shreveport, LA)

For two or three years I knew something wasn’t right. The school kept telling me that he was at grade level and that it was okay. But it wasn’t okay, because he would avoid reading. We came [to LearningRx] in September and thy confirmed he had an auditory processing problem. It feels like the pressure is off my shoulders.

L. Jakeman (Shreveport, LA)

As homeschoolers, we were stuck in several areas of her studies and couldn’t figure out what was missing. After putting her through the program, not only did her problem-solving skills improve, but there was also peace in teaching her again because things were connecting that never had before! Now a freshman in college, our daughter is thriving and experiencing academic achievements she never would have had we not understood and addressed her obstacles with the help of LearningRx.

Lisa (Shreveport, LA)

I am so glad that we found LearningRx as it has been a great experience for all of us. It really opened our eyes to the power of the mind and how it can adapt to anything. If one works on the deficiencies that they have, those deficiencies will soon become issues of the past and may even become strengths as they work their way through the LearningRx curriculum.

Jason (Shreveport, LA)

This place is such a gem! North Louisiana is blessed to have such a top notch facility to help children and families overcome any and all learning challenges. My son is enjoying reading for the first time ever! And is not even half way through his program. Donesa is the most wonderful person to work with. And all the trainers are qualified and trained. Such a blessing.

Roo (Shreveport, LA)

Heather (Shreveport, LA)

She had taken and excelled in college-level science and math courses in 8th grade, but struggled to remember and apply a lot of the basic math she had learned. Despite our initial skepticism about whether LearningRx could make a big difference for such a good student, after just a few months at LearningRx, her ability to retain and use mathematical knowledge really took off. Her focus, clarity, speed, precision of understanding, and ability to solve problems quickly and accurately absolutely rocketed.

Dr. Tony & Christine Cox (Shreveport, LA)

We are grateful for the hard work and patience of Isabella’s trainer, as well as for all the staff who helped Isabella succeed. She showed an amazing growth academically and personally and we couldn’t be more proud and happy for that!!

Blanca (Shreveport, LA)

The staff here is AMAZING. They are professional, experts in their field, & care about their students. Our child has greatly disliked reading & struggles meeting school standards. After starting LearningRx she has begun reading a chapter book for her free time & has fallen in love with reading! This is a huge win for her! Her confidence is high and she finally sees herself as a scholar.

Maranda (Shreveport, LA)

You or your child may or may not achieve the same results as past LearningRx clients. But give us a call. We’d love to work with you, too!
