Brain Training or Tutoring for Studying Skills?

Hiring a tutor is one of the most popular ways to help students study. But it’s not always the most effective option.

While tutoring can be highly effective for some students, others have just as much trouble studying with a tutor’s help. Often, these students need to strengthen core brain skills to make studying easier. That’s where brain training can help!

While tutoring focuses on what students learn, brain training focuses on how students learn. Instead of simply repeating what kids already heard in class, brain training gives them the skills and strategies they need to process, understand, and retain this information.

The reason why I could succeed was that I was on ADHD medication, but the medication made me extremely depressed and enraged all of the time. When I stopped taking it, I was filled with great joy because of my newfound freedom. But something was still wrong. Without the medication, I forgot the first part of the sentence by the end of the second part of the sentence. My imagination never turned off, and despite going to school an hour early and tutoring for an hour after school, I barely passed with Cs. Then I enrolled in LearningRx. Last year I was the slowest kid in the class, but this year I am one of the fastest and smartest.
