Our programs are never intended to be a cure for dyslexia, as dyslexia is not a disease. Instead, clients of all ages can work on improving their cognitive skills, fostering practical strategies for reading challenges and building a solid foundation for phonics and vocabulary. Our reading and reading comprehension programs draw on over three decades of research and practice in dyslexia and cognitive development. 

LearningRx has proudly provided dyslexia help for thousands of learners. From 2010 to 2018, learners with dyslexia documented a significant improvement in key reading skills after taking a LearningRx program. We make it possible for kids, teens, and adults to discover new strengths and abilities.

Individual Training Plans for Reading Difficulties

Every reader faces different challenges. Even for those with dyslexia, symptoms can look different for each person. That’s why, at LearningRx Shreveport, we develop an individual training plan for each learner.

We start by getting to know each learner, performing a Brain Skills Assessment to better understand their strengths, skills, and deficits. For readers with dyslexia, we can calibrate our reading programs based on each learner’s dyslexia symptoms, as well as additional challenges they may deal with daily. Intervention includes a systematic, intensive and customized one-to-one approach to the learning process. 

It means we can always tailor our MultiSensory approach based on the needs and abilities of any client of any age. 

Help with Reading Skills & Reading Disorders

For local students, we offer two core intensive programs: 

• ReadRx® builds a strong foundation of reading skills. Through this reading program, learners can focus on decoding sound and letter combinations, spelling, and other core abilities related to reading, such as phonemic awareness. 
• ComprehendRx® builds on reading comprehension, taking reading skills to the next level. Learners can work on overall comprehension, reading fluency, sequencing, vocabulary and critical thinking.  

Throughout these programs, students don’t just work on improving their reading skills. They’ll also target underlying cognitive skills like auditory and visual processing — skills that can help them become better learners, too.
