Speech Help & Language Help in Columbus-Dublin

We all sometimes have trouble finding the right words or understanding what others are saying. For individuals with speech and language disorders, these difficulties are simply more frequent and pronounced. With the right type of speech help or language help, individuals with these difficulties can learn skills to help them communicate more easily.

At LearningRx, our brain training programs can target underlying cognitive skills linked to speech and language. Today, approximately 1 in 10 learners at LearningRx come to us with a speech or language delay.

While brain training isn’t a treatment or cure for speech and language disorders, it can build new skills in  individuals with these conditions. Our approach to speech help and language help focuses on underlying skills used for:

  • Understanding spoken language
  • Imagining words, thoughts, and sentences
  • Translating imagined words into spoken language
  • Forming the correct sounds when speaking
  • Finding the right words to express oneself

Between 2010 and 2018, over 2,000 kids and teens with speech and language difficulties completed a LearningRx brain training program. These students improved learning and thinking skills by 3.0 years on average. This includes a gain of 4.1 years in auditory processing skills, which are the root cause of most speech and language difficulties!

(Results based on past clients. You or your child may or may not achieve the same results.)

Brain Training for Speech & Language Skills

Custom Plans for Speech & Language Training

Speech and language disorders are rooted in a wide range of causes. Many of these conditions are linked to auditory processing, which is the skill that allows the brain to process and imagine sounds. Auditory processing is a critical skill for understanding spoken language and expressing oneself verbally.

Our approach to language and speech help begins with understanding each student’s existing skills and difficulties. We will speak with you to get an understanding of your or your child’s history. The next step is to conduct a Brain Skills Assessment to identify where brain training can help. We then develop a custom brain training plan, targeting areas where you or your child could improve skills linked to language abilities.

By focusing on the individual needs of each learner, we can help you or your child strengthen cognitive skills in the right areas.

Brain Training for Learners with Speech & Language Disorders

Our brain training plans use games, drills, and activities to target cognitive skills. By challenging these skills, we help learners push past existing limits and strengthen the targeted abilities.

Each student works with a dedicated brain trainer in one-on-one training sessions. The brain trainer leads the games and activities in each session, providing direct feedback and encouragement.

This approach is similar to strength training – but for your brain instead of your body. Rather than building muscles, we’re training the parts of your brain used for speech and language!
