Tip #5 to Support Learning at Home: Add movement to promote learning.

ADDitude Magazine has some great advice for parents looking to support their children’s learning at home. Here is tip #5: Add movement to promote learning.

For some kids, especially those with ADHD, fidgeting can be an indication that adding movement to lessons may help promote learning. As one mom of a boy with ADHD explains, “We did very little learning seated quietly at a desk or table.” Her solution? She got down on the floor, crawled under the table with him and took lots of breaks that included jumping up and down.

Other parents found that yoga balls, beanbag chairs or even learning outside under a tree promoted learning.

Try several approaches and see what works best for your student!
