Coffee and chocolate may make you smarter!

According to an article in Inc., separate studies have shown that drinking coffee and/or eating dark chocolate, is good for your brain. A study published in Neurochemical Research magazine showed that a class of chemicals found in coffee, tea and cacao promotes sustained cognitive performance and can protect neurons against dysfunction and death from stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s. Another study, done at Okayama University, found that caffeine makes your brain more flexible and resilient. Of course, the studies indicate that you should be drinking six to eight cups (8 oz each) of coffee to get the most benefit. But if you’re not up for the jitters, consider replacing a cup or two with an ounce of dark chocolate.
