Help for Kids and Teens with ADHD

Having ADHD can make it difficult to focus and concentrate, ignore distractions, and control impulses. The good news? Attention skills can be strengthened with the right kind of training.

Interventions for ADHD need to target more than attention, though. In fact, those that focus only on attention are missing the boat! Research shows working memory, long-term memory, and processing speed are also problematic for those with ADHD.

At LearningRx, we strengthen all the cognitive skills needed to help kids with ADHD make the most of their unique talents!

Personalized Training for Children with ADHD

Every learner with ADHD has a unique cognitive profile. In fact, two people with ADHD could have trouble focusing for completely different reasons!

To deliver the right kind of ADHD help, we start with a skills assessment. This allows us to identify the brain skills with the most room for growth in each client.

For learners with ADHD, a brain training plan could focus on broad attention skills. Often, we will focus on specific attention skills, such as how to stay focused for long periods or how to avoid mid-task distractions. We can also work on strengthening skills like short-term memory, long-term memory, and mental processing speed, which can be tied to ADHD.

While these skills are all common targets for learners with an ADHD diagnosis, we may focus on other skills for individual learners. It all depends on the results of each client’s skills assessment!

Brain Training or Tutoring for Kids and Teens with ADHD

Finding ADHD help for kids and teens can be challenging. Many parents start by hiring a tutor. If ADHD students haven’t built core learning skills, they will still have trouble learning with a tutor. Even with tutoring, grades will often stay the same.

Brain training offers a different approach to ADHD than tutoring — and it comes with much different results.

M Miller (Colorado Springs, CO)

LearningRx has helped me grow in my career by sharpening different cognitive areas. I loved my trainer, Tracey, who made the program fun and enjoyable.

Allison (Colorado Springs, CO)

It was amazing how this brain training positively affected every aspect of my 8-year old’s life, from comprehending what he read to learning and speaking to building confidence in himself and working through the meltdowns rather than shutting down. Homework time, discipline time, and times of losing are also a lot easier with new understanding. All of which will make his life lessons, now and in the future, easier to adapt to and learn from!

Brendan (Colorado Springs, CO)

This is such a special organization. We invested in our son‘s future through LearningRx, and are very pleased with the results even after six months! We focused on auditory processing to balance with visual processing. The staff is very intelligent and personable and flexible support our family needs. I would recommend LearningRx to anybody at any age actually to build those neural pathways!

Michelle (Colorado Springs, CO)

LearningRx doesn’t just focus on academics and learning but also gives you the confidence to live your best life! Before LearningRx my son was afraid to try almost anything new. He was paralyzed by his fear. He has improved confidence to not just tackle academics but also to live his best life!

Stephanie (Colorado Springs, CO)

LearningRX has been a blessing to my son. JR had a sports related concussion in March of 2019. He was in the 8th grade and had forgotten simple things in life. I didn’t know how he would finish out his 8th grade year…I came across LearningRX and after the first week or two he could tell that his memory getting better. My son has gained confidence, his memory, and the stamina to work for longer periods of time. JR finished his 8th grade year with straight A’s and was accepted in to the Information and Technology program at high school. A huge thank you to LearnRX and Mr Richard!!!

Genita (Colorado Springs, CO)

LearningRx was a wonderful academic support for our daughter. The environment was fun, motivating and productive. We are so grateful for this resource in our community!

Lindsey (Colorado Springs, CO)

I would recommend LearningRx to anyone that is looking to grow and improve. Enjoyed it very much and gained so much during my experience. Caitlin was a WONDERFUL trainer! She helped me so much and made the experience an absolute pleasure!

Travis (Colorado Springs, CO)

My daughter trains there and we have seen the amount of time it takes her to do schoolwork lessen significantly. She also has a better time understanding math concepts.

Keri (Colorado Springs, CO)

I think learningRX is a great investment in yourself. I’m in my late 20’s and I want to be more confident in my reading and writing as I enter into a corporate career. My trainer was very encouraging and continued to work with me on my goals to improve everyday. The staff at this center is great and you will be well taken care of. Marlyn was great with all the scheduling of extra meetings or general questions I had whenever I called.

Zac (Chattanooga East, TN)

My son entered LearningRX as a very challenged reader. He had many of the skills he needed to read, but had a hard time putting those skills together. After working with a trainer at LearningRX for 20-weeks, his skills improved dramatically. His trainer, Will Atkinson, made the hard work of brain training fun for my 10-year old son. LearningRX accomplished what we had hoped it would and it was one of the best academic things we have ever done for our children.

Cindy (Colorado Springs, CO)

This is one of the best places in Colorado Springs that supports children and families. My experience was great working with Mr. Bryan and Ms. Marylyn. These are two of the kindest professionals I have encountered since been in Colorado. I would highly recommend speaking to Ms. Marylyn if you think this program may be of benefit to your family. They treat each individual with dignity and respect and more importantly, they are genuine there.

Dr. D (Chattanooga East, TN)

LearningRx was recommended to my family by a teacher that took the time to see the potential that my child had. LearningRx was able to assist my child into becoming a more confident and happier student. This brain training was the best decision our family has made.

Tiffany (Colorado Springs, CO)

Learning RX was a great way to bring some excitement out in our daughter when it comes to learning! She really improved in so much and has sooo much more confidence in herself, her ability to problem solve and her overall attitude about math and school work. She had the most incredible trainer Caitlin…Imani is so easy to communicate with, listens and engages with the students and parents so well. Marilyn was always very welcoming and we appreciated her a ton!

Annie (Colorado Springs, CO)

I have done Learning RX brain training programs for two of my children. First, my son, who we still continue to see the benefits from. Even though his program was completed more than 3 years ago! Second, my daughter did the lift off program when she was 6 years old. Since I still had my sons’ program materials, we decided I would train my daughter at home. My daughter is making huge improvements! I am once again convinced that I made the right decision investing in this program for my kids.

Tonya (Chattanooga East, TN)

Wonderful trainer Richard! My daughter is successful in school and now we don’t have to be concerned for her success life. She is doing so much better in school it’s like night and day. We are truly grateful for this program!

Tanya (Colorado Springs, CO)

He was getting distracted really easily by other students and noises in the classroom and it hindered his ability to stay on task. I was nervous about the thought of him beginning to drive with how easily distracted he can get but after this program I have seen a huge difference in him. If your child is struggling to pay attention in a distracting school environment, feeling like they’re stupid, or not enjoying school because they’re having trouble completing tasks then this program is for them. Give yourself or your child this gift it’s worth it. I highly recommend this program!

Allie (Colorado Springs, CO)

The improvements with our 14-year-old have been amazing. I believe every person will benefit from this program. It’s top notch.

Paula (Colorado Springs, CO)

LearningRx has been incredible for our son. He was struggling in math, memorizing information for tests, and struggling to pay attention in class. He was getting distracted really easily by other students and noises in the classroom and it hindered his ability to stay on task. My son’s confidence has skyrocketed, but more importantly than that it has elevated his level of grit.

Allie (Colorado Springs, CO)

We had a wonderful experience with LearningRx – I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Amanda (Colorado Springs, CO)

I recently just finish read rx program. The trainer I work with was Caitlin Mulkern and she was an awesome trainer. She pushed me past my comfort zone to accomplish my goals. going through the process I saw improvements and growth. Kudos to me and Caitlin….

Mike (Colorado Springs, CO)

Our 10-year-old son’s life is on a GREAT trajectory thanks to his brain being “re-wired” by the LearningRx program! I am a family nurse practitioner, and I can say their system is unlike any other. In the past, my son would be crying nearly every day after school due to the frustration of being behind and overwhelmed. Now, a year later, he’s a confident young man who enjoys school, loves to learn— and even enjoys taking tests!

Ellie (Colorado Springs, CO)

Helped our daughter in a host of ways, from learning and thinking skills, increased confidence and self-esteem, to auditory and visual processing improvements.

Michael (Colorado Springs, CO)

Truly excellent program. Staff was excellent to work with. They kept us informed and were flexible with schedule changes when needed. My child’s progress was tremendous. Grades went up and her attitude towards school became more positive. I definitely recommend LearningRx.

Pj (Colorado Springs, CO)

Our son struggled in school and started to disconnect because it became frustrating. After working with LearningRx everything changed, he talked about school in a positive way, grades came around. Now since 9th grade he has been on the honor roll every semester and is better organized. It’s all about understanding how your child learns and fixing the problems so they can reach their full potential.

Rudy (Colorado Springs, CO)

I have seen my child grow not just academically, but also in believing in her own abilities to problem-solving. The team of professionals at this place truly understands the needs of each student and works tirelessly to help them excel in their cognitive skills. The positive impact LearningRx has had on my family is truly invaluable. Without a doubt LearningRx has my highest recommendation.
