Dr. Ken Gibson has held a lifelong passion for helping struggling clients learn faster and easier. He started his professional career as a pediatric vision specialist before discovering that brain training provided the greatest gains for clients who were struggling to read or learn. Dr. Gibson spent the next several decades developing programs to measure and train core cognitive skills, in the process training more than 1,000 professionals in education and psychology to use his techniques. In 2002, Dr. Gibson founded LearningRx to make brain training available to more families. Today, LearningRx is the largest one-on-one brain training company in the world, with approximately 80 centers across the United States and programs in more than 45 countries.
Kim Hanson is the Chief Executive Officer of LearningRx. She began her leadership role with the organization in 2004 as Executive Vice President and was named CEO in 2017. Her career passion is to help professionals, educators, and parents learn more about cognitive skills training and the dramatic results it can have on real-life performance.
Prior to her time with LearningRx, Ms. Hanson worked in education with second and fifth graders at several inner-city schools in Nashville and Minneapolis. She is Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) and is a graduate of North Central University in Minneapolis. Ms. Hanson is the proud daughter of Dr. Ken Gibson, founder of LearningRx, with whom she co-authored the book Unlock the Einstein Inside: Applying New Brain Science to Wake Up the Smart in Your Child.
Beyond the workplace, she currently enjoys mentoring high school and college students as they identify future career options. In addition, she is a vocal advocate for the civil rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Ms. Hanson has been married to Dr. Wayne Hanson for over 25 years and together they are busy raising their four children: Lily, Zac, Max, and Gracie. In her free time, Ms. Hanson loves creating custom pottery for family and friends. She also loves watching football on Sundays, as she is a diehard Green Bay Packers fan.
