“As a parent, it is very frustrating to know your child’s potential and continually watch them struggle to reach it. We knew there was a problem with our daughter’s ability to learn starting as early as Kindergarten.
The school conducted extensive testing showing our daughter had a very high IQ, but low academic performance which indicated a learning disability. She was subsequently given an IEP for a Cognitive Processing disorder and was regularly pulled from class to give her extra attention with reading.
Needless to say, learning to read was very difficult and homework was a disaster. After three years of Special Education and tutoring, our daughter kept falling farther and farther behind – it was clear that school wasn’t going to be able to fix the problem.
As parents, we decided to take matters into our own hands and brought our daughter to an extensive specialized learning center that promised great results. The learning center did help out daughter catch up over the summer, only to have her slide backwards again once school started and the academic difficulty increased.
In third grade when our daughter was eight years old, we realized something had to be done to correct her specific learning disability or her self esteem and future in academics was going to suffer significantly. That was when we found LearningRx.
LearningRx prescribed the Read Rx program for our daughter earlier this year. The program was rigorous and definitely was not easy! The training was time consuming and took a commitment from our entire family. Read Rx challenged our daughter in the areas she needed help the most, targeting her specific auditory and visual processing problems which were exactly what we wanted. We were blessed with a fabulous trainer who was able to motivate and inspire our daughter to work harder than she ever had before!
Our daughter is now finishing chapter books and getting her to read is no longer the huge battle it used to be. It has been amazing to watch our daughter discover that she can read and see how it has opened up her entire world – she is reading everything from street signs to the instructions for games she wants to play. We can’t wait for our daughter to return to school this year and succeed! Thank you LearningRx!”

“After hearing from other experts that all we could do for our son was to accommodate the way his brain works, it was great to find a program that worked to change the way our son’s brain worked. LearningRx set expectations that were both realistic and honest. Change did not happen overnight, but it did happen. Participating in our son’s training was a great way to watch those changes take place. The program was stimulating, challenging and at sometimes even fun. Most importantly, it worked.
Finding LearningRx was the greatest find. I was lost in the world of ADHD and LearningRx showed us a light. I believe if we had not found (Learning) Rx, we would continue to have struggles in school. My son has grown over the last 24 weeks and (Learning) Rx has been a big contributor to his growth. I will always recommend (Learning) Rx to anyone who has a child struggling in school. It is the best program out there. Thank you. Thank You!”

“Our search for finding tools to help with our son’s reading skills began around the age of six. Reading was never of interest and no matter what program or workbook selected improvement in reading was marginal.
“Monitoring our son’s reading skills were also accomplished at school through standardized testing. From year to year, his results were either average or slightly below average with no real change or concern for the teachers. As a parent, I could see the lack of interest and frustration with reading but was unsure how to help.
“Finding a program that would work with his learning style and provide adequate results would prove to be challenging. As our son entered Middle School, his age and resistance added to the dynamic. With valid points from our son; that he has good grades and that there are no issues with school, why bother? The truth is that he knew he could do better and needed something that would help improve his skills. The question would be which skills and how to identify them?
“After meeting with Rich from the LearningRx center in Savage, I was pleasantly impressed with the concept of training the brain for results instead of a tutoring program. With the results of our son’s initial assessment, it was evident that a new approach was needed to improve his Cognitive skills. At last, measurable results and a solution.
“The next step would be finding a trainer to work with a young teen with doubts. Rich was very helpful in finding a trainer that could work with our son’s learning style and competitiveness. Tyrel was the ideal trainer for our son and very instrumental in pushing him to excel while making the program fun.
“Our son’s post assessment results were fantastic! The gains made in the Cognitive skills categories were beyond my expectations and our son’s.
Thank you!”

"This last year our daughter had difficulty in school with her reading and math. She was just beginning to read but her memory was so short she couldn’t remember what she had just read so there was no comprehension. The same was true with math. Needless to say she was a frustrated learner and was not enjoying learning at all.
“We had her evaluated at LearningRx and they identified the areas that were weak.
“She has now completed her training and we’ve seen her make great strides in reading and math. She can now not only sound words out more effectively, but she has comprehension skills to remember what she’s read.
She loved learning at LearningRx. I think she will miss her times there. I am confident this year will be a great year for our daughter at school. She now has the tools to succeed.”

‘My daughter is 8 years old and just completed Second Grade. Since beginning school in Kindergarten, she has been overwhelmed with all expectations and not at all interested. Asking her to read even a picture book has been a painful struggle for her and anyone making the request. She has never volunteered answers in school and has only been a barely interested observer. Spelling tests were a battle because she could not retain more than 3 or 4 words out of 16 long enough to spell them correctly on a test. She had convinced herself “it didn’t matter” if she didn’t know words and couldn’t read. She had basically shut down to learning.
We tried numerous things to help her: she has been in Title 1 since kindergarten, has been tested for ADHD, she has been in Special Education, spent 6 months in a local tutoring program twice a week and nothing was helping. She had her mind made up that since she couldn’t read it was OK.
Then we discovered LearningRx! She was tested using the Woodcock Johnson III assessment which discovered her weak areas, as well as her strengths. After explaining her attitude and lack of effort, Rich matched her with a trainer. This was a skill of its own! (In speaking to other parents, they have agreed that the student/ trainer matches have been excellent.)
The program started by retraining the brain all the way back to “a-a-a-a; b-b-b-b-b.” Within 3 weeks of the 24 week program, suddenly the spelling tests were almost perfect! She was excited about learning the words and she experienced the satisfaction of success. Shortly thereafter, her Title 1 teachers were asking what had happened, why had her reading suddenly improved? At home, she was asking to read to us and picking up lengthy chapter books to read to herself. It has been amazing! We have about 5 weeks of the 24 week program remaining and we are anxious to see the end results as well as her performance in the upcoming school year.
Key factors of Learning RX for us are the intense interest and follow through Rich has displayed with both the school and our daughter’s pediatrician. Learning RX looks at the whole child and tries to trouble-shoot areas of concern. Also, we are amazed at the interaction at the center between the students and the trainers. It is a positive, yet busy, environment. The entire family becomes involved and everyone encourages and celebrated the gains together. Learning RX is one of the best things that has happened to our family!”

I just want to thank you so much for helping my son!
My son was diagnosed at the age of 5 with ADHD. He came to me one day and said his head was so busy. We tested him and his pediatrician gave us options of treatment. We chose Concerta. He remained on Concerta until his 7th grade. He was then put on Adderall because he just wasn’t responding as well to the Concerta as he had in the past. Then last year in 8th grade, it was so devastating for him. He was content with D’s, as they were “passing grades.” He had a few F’s that he was no so happy with but he just accepted them. My son was always down and had low confidence in his intelligence.
Then this summer I saw a full-page ad in the Savage Pacer newspaper about LearningRx. I read it and it stated that about 50% of students left without using their medication. I talked with my son about it and he agreed to a meeting and testing. My son just turned 14 and was at a point where he did not want to use medication any more as he felt it kept him from being himself. I was at the end of my rope as a single mom and really had run out of options. We went to him first testing and we both agreed this was something we would give a chance. I felt this was my last resort!
Brad was my son’s trainer and they seemed to hit it off right away. My son was excited about LearningRx as he said it was fun and a different type of learning with more games; he loves games and he enjoyed the challenge. After a month or so I started noticing changes in my son. His out of control behavior seemed to turn into a more focused young man. He seemed happier and joking around more. He would complete tasks around the house when asked.
When school started I agreed to let my son start without his Adderall, with the agreement that if his grades started falling, we would put him back on it. To my surprise that was never an issue! In fact, he started the year out organized and focused. He would remember homework right away every evening and then he would have time to play videos as his reward. He held his head higher and was surprised that more people were talking to him, “popular kids.”
The first parent/teacher conference came and to our surprise, he was one grade away from being on the B honor roll!! I was so proud of him, and it gave me such joy to see how proud my son was of his accomplishments. He has never ever been this close to being on the B honor roll, even though he never made it, just being this close was enough for him! He did it without Adderall!
I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have found this program. I am so excited about it that I am always telling everyone I know. My son is happier, more content with himself and much more confident. He finally realizes that he can do anything and he is, for the first time, talking about his future and about attending a 4-year college!
Thank you so very much! I would be most happy to talk to any parent about our experience, as I am sure my son would.

“Our son had a difficult time in first grade. His challenges were focusing, concentration, distractions, reading, writing and comprehension. The school implied a possibility of AD/HD, but we weren’t willing to go there.
“We saw a story on Fox9 News that brought some hope. LearningRx offered an alternative option. Our son was tested and found to be lacking in all areas of the test. He was matched up with a wonderful trainer named Connie. No doubt, her patience and persistence made the difference.
“Our son struggled in the first half of the program, often saying it was too hard and he couldn’t do it. As he proved himself wrong, there were constant examples that he could do it. The second half of the program flew by, and we are saddened that it is over.
“Improvements we have seen: improved reading, writing, spelling and speaking. Before, it was difficult to get him to read a single page. Now we find him asleep in bed with a book between his hands! Thanks Connie, Rich and the LearningRx team!”
