MathRx

What is MathRx?
MathRx is a unique program that tests, trains, and strengthens the core mental skills necessary for numerical fluency, number sense, and overall math success. (see below) Numerical fluency refers to a student’s ease with numbers and numerical concepts. Number sense goes beyond simple calculations and enables the student to see relationships between calculations and quantities and the real world around them. Just as musicians “hear” the music in their heads, strong numerical fluency and number sense lets students “see” math in the world around them.

How It Works
This is not simply math or calculation exercises. LearningRx’s unequalled power comes from precise cognitive skills testing and individualized cognitive skills training that enhance the key mental skills required to excel in all phases of math. Our patented programs focus directly on the brain’s ability to change, grow, and literally expand a student’s ability to learn and understand mathematical concepts.

MathRx takes an innovative approach to improving both math and higher level thinking skills. Instead of limiting study to a narrow area within mathematics, MathRx training develops the broad set of underlying cognitive skills that are required to efficiently and effectively learn mathematical concepts, solve problems, and perform mathematical calculations faster and easier.

The result = high-level thinking, problem solving, and reasoning skills for a lifetime.
The program is designed around non-academic training (not more math tutoring). It focuses on developing or strengthening the student’s numerical fluency and executive functioning skills through a variety of increasingly challenging drills that also improve core cognitive components of efficient math and overall learning performance such as:
  • Attention
  • Comprehension
  • Deductive Reasoning
  • Memory (Working, Procedural, Iterative, and Visual)
  • Inductive Reasoning
  • Numeric and Fractional Fluency
  • Logic and Reasoning
  • Executive Function
  • Planning
  • Problem Solving
  • Visualization
A love for math is not the privilege of a select few. The skills necessary for strong computation skills and that “natural” number sense can be identified and improved. It’s easy to find out how LearningRx can help.
