“My name is William Adame. I am a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. I was injured in combat in Iraq; was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury and severe Tic Disorder. I was then referred to LearningRx for cognitive rehabilitation therapy.

I came to LearningRx frustrated and my confidence in communicating with others wasn’t very high. I also suffered from memory loss that was irritating in itself. I didn’t know what to expect with my trainer and what was in store for me. I was very pleased with how understanding my instructor was with my situation. She made me feel more relaxed and open to the therapy and its techniques. I started incorporating the skills with my work and home life. I then noticed my words come quicker and I didn’t feel as slow as I once did. My communication in general overall improved. The techniques I was taught enabled me to better remember things and use in my everyday life. Because I try to apply those skills I can see great improvement. I now feel very strong mentally and my test scores show my hard work paid off.

I am very glad for being able to learn with wonderful trainers and just being in the LearningRx environment. All of the staff were very professional and knowledgeable in their field. I would definitely recommend LearningRx as a great aid in anyone wanting to improve their cognitive skill, especially those suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury.”

Claire's LearningRx Story

“Claire was entering 6th grade and we had dealt wither learning issues through accommodations (IEP’s). She had a difficulty writing, spelling and had no interest in reading. She required a parent next to her to complete any math. She had trouble staying focused on the task at hand and had no confidence in her answers.

We heard about LearningRx from one of my husband’s work associates. We read the book and were excited to learn more about a potential solution rather than continuing the daily struggle which did not contribute to a happy home. What impressed us was that this was not tutoring; rather the training would exercise the brain and help to mitigate her learning issues. We felt that it was very important to get going on this as Junior High was rapidly approaching.

Claire’s trainers, Carly and Beth were patient and understanding. They were very observant and helped to ensure a proper learning environment getting her back on track when she would become frustrated. Claire established a great relationship with Beth . She enjoyed going to her sessions and worked really hard. This was a surprise for us considering before LearningRx Claire would never attempt anything that dealt with Math. Since Claire has completed ReadRx, she has become a much better reader.

Thank you for the training you have given our daughter. We look forward to seeing her shine!”

“I am so fortunate to have found LearningRx! I was aware of the problems my son was having comprehending things he read, but his grades didn’t reflect that. The school continued to give Michael As and Bs, so it made it difficult to make my husband see that there was a problem. So when I heard about LearningRx, I told my husband we should have Michael tested and proceed from there. Once we got the results, there was no question that something had to be done, so we signed Michael up that night and we couldn’t be happier that we did!

After the first 2 weeks, we saw a marked improvement in Michael’s reading. As the lessons continued, he would no longer guess at words. Instead, he would take the time to use the skills he learned and sound out the word. To see the smile on his face when he got a long word correct was priceless! His confidence level has risen as well; reading aloud is no longer something he fears!

I would recommend this program to any parent that is willing to put in the time and effort to help their child excel.”

“Rachelle has always been a high achiever in school, sports, and as a volunteer. She was a competitive dancer and figure skater and yet was still able to graduate from high school with a 3.7 GPA. Hence it was a major disappointment to her and to us that she struggled during her first year in college. She had worked extremely hard but was unable to get the good grades she was accustomed to getting. Of major concern to us is what appeared to be her fundamental weaknesses in taking notes, applying learned concepts, and taking quizzes/tests. These deficiencies, we felt, should have been identified and resolved long ago in high school. Hence, we were extremely frustrated and as we explored options, it became quite clear that traditional tutoring was not the answer. We needed to find the root cause of this problem and correct it immediately before it robbed her of her dreams of going to medical school.

We have come to believe training from LearningRx may be the answer to Rachelle’s problem. Since working with LearningRx, Rachelle has gained a much better understanding of her learning abilities, both strengths and weaknesses. More importantly, she has learned ways to use her strengths to reduce or overcome her weaknesses. She has also significantly increased her ability to use her short- and long-term memories for learning, to focus on task, and shut out distractions, and most importantly, to use visual cues to help her to learn.

Overall, she has much more confidence in her abilities and is enthusiastic about applying her newly learned LearningRx skills in college. Only time will tell how successful she will become, but regardless, we are extremely thankful for the help given to Rachelle by Lauren, Cindy, Leslie, and Rex. They are more than just business owners, advisors, and trainers. They are caring individuals who offered to do whatever they can to help Rachelle during the program and in the future if required. Thanks. We are thrilled to be part of the LearningRx alumni/family.”

Devon's LearningRx Story

“Although Devon was diagnosed with ADHD in first grade, most of his teachers chose to believe that failure was a choice he consciously made because he could do the work sometimes. They liked to believe that he could do the work all the time, but chose not to. These attitudes, and the constant failures, beat down his self-esteem to the point that he tried to be invisible at school. I tried to argue in IEP meetings that as soon as we all stop believing that Devon can be made to fit the mold, we can start figuring out what might actually help him.

The big problem was that I had no idea what the problem was! Sure, he has many textbook characteristics of ADHD but there seemed to be a great cognitive disconnect that neither he nor I could at all understand. Then we tested at LearningRx—as soon as the results were in, I saw on paper the disconnect that had baffled me for so long and which had compromised Devon’s quality of life: a low executive processing speed score. We signed up for ThinkRx and Devon’s accomplishments absolutely astounded me throughout the course. The staff was so supportive and enthusiastic, it was infectious. One month into the new school year, Devon has proven that he can be much more responsible for his school work than ever before. He knows, for the first time in many years, that failure is not inevitable. He believes in himself!”

“My child was severely behind. Thanks to this program and the incredible trainer Nicholas had, he has improved so much. His self-esteem has improved along with his learning and reading skills. Also, if that wasn’t enough, he brought home the best report card that he has ever had in his life. Thanks so much to the staff for making this a wonderful, positive experience for Nicholas.”

“Kelsey is more self-confident, goal-oriented, focused and able to multi-task as a result of her training. She is more enthusiastic towards her studies – more prepared for her college pre-tests and more able to handle long projects. As a result of her increasing self-confidence with her new skills, it has allowed her to be more self-confident with her high school peers as well as her colleagues at work. She is more organized, sets goals and follows through. She definitely will complete projects now, ones that she shied away from in the past. Fabulous experience.”

“I have seen huge improvements in her reading fluency. She enjoys reading and will actually read a whole book. It doesn’t take her as long to finish her books either. Her self-confidence is higher. She has moved into the gifted and talented program at school.”

“The greatest successes I have seen in my child as a result of her training at LearningRx are her increased maturity, self-confidence, and her ability to self-advocate. She no longer feels defeated but no knows she has the tools to succeed and that change in attitude filters down to all areas of learning. Several times she has told me that she really misses LearningRx and wishes she were still in the program.”

“Alex has started this year in school so much better. He is a 6th grader who read at a 2nd grade level and is now reading 6th grade. With math, he started at 3rd grade level and is now in 6th-7th grade math. He has gone from C’s, D’s and F’s and turning in no homework to A’s, B’s and C’s and turning in all homework. His self-esteem has gone up, so now we do not hear “I can’t do this” we hear “I can do this, it’s easy.” Math has become so easy for him that he has skipped 120 lessons in one week. Reading has become fun for him instead of a chore. I want to say thank you for all you did. The program does work!”

“I cannot express enough how thankful I am that I found LearningRx. There is such an improvement in my son, both in his ability to read and in his self-confidence. He now is excited to go to school to show off what he has learned. My husband and I truly believe that this was the best thing we could have done for our son. It is so nice to see him smile and be excited when he reads, instead of seeing him so frustrated and upset. Not only is the program a wonderful thing but all the people who work for LearningRx are amazing. I want to thank each and every person involved with Vincent. You guys are the best!! Thank you so much for everything! Keep up the great work!”
