Cognitive Development and Learning Processes

Cognitive Development and Learning Processes
Cognitive Development and Learning Processes - Can it be developed?

Sarah needed help with cognitive development and learning processes. Her parents found help for Sarah at the Lincoln LearningRx in Lincoln, Nebraska. Here is what they had to say following her training:

"Sarah has made tremendous improvements in spelling and reading fluency. She does the work without complaining and looks forward to sessions with her trainer.

"When we began, Sarah was starting to realize her weaknesses in reading and speaking, and therefore she did less and less of both. Her longtime friends were overlooking her and she was gravitating towards a group of kids that were really loud and obnoxious -- I think because she wouldn’t be ‘required’ to add to the conversations. I knew she had lots to say but by the time she pulled up the words and felt confident to say them, her pals were on to the next topic. So she just stayed more and more quiet.

"I knew she was barely getting by in school, yet her teachers kept giving her good grades. LearningRx has NOT turned on a ‘smart’ switch but it DID turn on Sarah’s ‘thinking’ switch! Her friends and family are noticing her speaking clearer and quicker and with more confidence. Her schoolwork is really improving without assistance from from her teacher, a paraprofessional, or a parent!"

Cognitive Development and Learning Processes - Seeing Results

Steve and Erin's son needed help in the area of cognitive development and learning processes. They saw results at their local brain training center.

"Our family has been on a 5 year odyssey to find a solution for our son Christopher’s difficulty with school. Since Kindergarten we have seen a seemingly never-ending string of teachers, therapists, specialists and even a psychiatrist to help Chris find his place in school. All suggested that he could benefit from medication, although none could explain how that would help a relatively calm child do better in school.

"Then we found LearningRx. Not only could you explain how your program could help our son, you explained why. Finally someone could define Chris’ problem and lay out a plan of attack that made sense. In the last 3 months we have seen greater improvement in Chris’ work habits and overall ability than we have in the last 3 years! He does his homework almost entirely on his own, something he could not do before.

"He has caught up to his grade level in Math and Science this year, as well as making a marked improvement in his reading. The most important thing, however, is his confidence level. When we started, Chris was very discouraged, not only with school and our previous attempts to find help, but with himself. For all his effort over the years we hadn’t gotten far. Now he sees that when his efforts are applied in the right direction he can make huge progress. He’s a much happier kid these days.

"Thanks to you and your staff for giving our son hope."
