Characteristics of Learning Disabilities – The Importance of Assessment
If certain characteristics of learning disabilities are identified early in a child’s development, a program of cognitive training can be used to give that child the right skills for a normal and successful life. A recent study by the National Institutes of Health revealed that 67% of young “at risk readers” became average or above average readers after receiving proper cognitive training in the early grades.

Of course, some of these characteristics may surface from time to time as a part of normal development.
