Problems With Reading

“Jake has increased his confidence in many ways. He doesn’t say 'I can’t read' anymore. He believes that he can, and makes the effort! Before, he felt defeated before he began! Reading more fluently has increased his comprehension greatly! Reading is less tedious so understanding material can happen!

His frustration level is much improved! Anger and belligerence has subsided! He responds to general conversation, jobs, instructions in a more 'with it' way!

Jake has thanked us many, many times for finding LearningRx and helping him improve. LearningRx was great at finding a good 'match' in trainers for Jake. That was key for him to 'buy in' to the program!”

Problems With Math

"LearningRx has been a great experience for me. I have improved in math and reading. Miss Tara has helped me a lot! I do my homework faster, because I don’t get frustrated. I am reading faster and smoother. Multiplication is a snap for me now. I am so glad that we found LearningRx. If I know anyone that is struggling, I will tell them about LearningRx! Thanks to LearningRx I am smarter now.”

Struggling With Homework

“LearningRx was a godsend for my son. We always knew he was very bright, but he continually struggled in an academic setting. Teachers would say he was not paying attention or just 'wasn't with' the class. Homework would take forever. Just a few weeks into the LearningRx program we saw improvement in his ability to get his homework done faster and remember what he needed to do. His grades improved and his self-esteem improved. He now has free time because homework doesn't take up so much time. His teachers have noticed that he pays attention better and accomplishes a lot more in class. We had been concerned about how he would handle the extra work and stress of Jr. High. Now we aren't worried anymore. Our son is ready for a bright academic future.”

ADD / ADHD / Attention

“When we first came to LearningRx Grant was fidgety, had trouble staying on task, and got frustrated doing his homework, taking as much as 2 hours to complete. Now he gets right to it, hardly ever takes more than 30 minutes, and no longer takes his medicine for ADHD since there’s no reason to. I would highly recommend this to anyone whose child is struggling in school.”

Autism

“Dear LearningRx,

For years my family and I have been praying that we would receive a miracle that would change our son’s life. Five years later, we received our miracle when we were introduced to LearningRx.

During the summer of 1998, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Tripp. As a parent, I took a lot of pride watching my son grow, develop and excel for the next four years. To my surprise, our lives were about to drastically change. Shortly after his fourth birthday, I started noticing changes in his behavior and his motor skills. For the next two years we spent the majority of our time trying to find out what was wrong with him. At the end of his kindergarten year we finally received the dreadful diagnosis. The diagnosis was: PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder) which is a form of Autism, ADD, Learning Disabilities, and Severe Short-term Memory Loss. Needless to say, we were devastated.

The next 3 years were devoted to seeking the help he needed. We tried every avenue such as medications, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, different food elimination diets, and allergy injections. For a short amount of time he would obtain his goals, however he would then revert back. After a while it started taking a toll on all of our lives. I would spend three to four hours a night helping him with his homework while I had another child to care for. Tripp became very frustrated because he has the intelligence of a normal child, but getting to that place was the mystery. At the end of most days we all would be crying out of mere exhaustion. It seemed that our options were running out; until I spoke with a friend about LearningRx. Her child had enrolled in the 12-week program the year before and the results were amazing. My husband and I were sold!

Tripp began the 24-week program during October 2007. He would go in 3 times a week with a trainer, then I would home train 3 – 5 hours a week. About two months into the program I started noticing that the amount of time we were working on homework was cut in half. He was becoming more independent and wanting less help from me. It was hard for me to grasp because I was so used to helping him with everything. He would say to me, 'Mom, I can do this on my own.' I couldn’t believe what was happening.

February 2008 I attended a meeting at his school about his special education services. I thought the topic was regarding the next year’s goals, but to my surprise it wasn’t. The whole team was there. These individuals have been working with Tripp ever since the end of Kindergarten through 3rd grade. They have experienced the highs and lows with us. None of us could believe what was happening. Each therapist went over their individual goal and evaluation report with me. They explained how they have never seen such a drastic change in an individual. He had completely exceeded their goals and expectations. At the end of the meeting, Tripp was released from all special education services. His resource teacher said she would check in on a regular basis to make sure he wouldn’t fall behind. To this day, he’s doing great. We certainly received our miracle!

Tripp completed the 24-week program in May 2008. Once again we received shocking news. His post-assessment results stated that he had improved in 20 out of 21 areas. On average he went up 6.1 years per skill. The director stated that he had never seen these kinds of results since he has been there. I explained to Tripp that he was being nominated for the 'Student of the Year Award.' His response was, 'This is the biggest accomplishment I’ve ever done in my life!'

Thank you, LearningRx, for helping our son, not only academically, but for giving him the self-confidence he well deserves. This has been the greatest milestone of our lives. We love all of you so much! It just shows that when you have an army of caring people to help and the right tools, anything is possible! God bless all of you who dedicate your lives to helping others.

Much Love,
The Bell Family

Special Education / IEP

“Cora is like a different child. She had a very bad year last year as a freshman. In spite of parental interventions, tutoring in two subjects, support from a special education teacher, medication, individual and group therapy, and frequent communication with teachers, she had a very mediocre GPA (about 2.1), hated school (and said so daily), and was generally pretty unhappy. Cora did LearningRx over the summer.

Since she started school this year, she actually seems to be enjoying it. Everything seems to be easier, she is getting her work done and is doing well on it, and most importantly, she feels better about herself and her accomplishments and is much happier. We are hopeful that the changes continue. Homework is no longer a struggle.”

Long-Term Success and Lasting Results

“My son Charlie was struggling in every area. As a parent, I was heartbroken to see him fail over and over again. In my search for help for him, LearningRx answered every question I had ever thought of. After working with Jack for a few weeks, I actually asked the question, 'Who are you, and what have you done with my son?' Charlie’s attitude and confidence level improved. He started the program after the first nine-week grading period ended. He was failing every subject, even though he was studying more and more. I received an email from his teacher, and for the last nine weeks, my son will make the honor roll for the first time.”

Sports

“LearningRx has helped me in many ways. Two of them are in the areas of academics and athletics. Before I took the program, I would become confused with my assignments in the football plays. After I took the program, I knew not only my responsibilities in the plays, but those of my teammates as well.

In the area of academics, I saw improvements in a couple of ways. Before the program it would take me hours to do my homework. And even then I would need my mom to help me. I worked very hard to get B’s and C’s. After the program I began High School. Now I have more assignments and yet I am done in half the time, and my mom rarely helps me anymore. Now I am getting mostly A’s. My confidence has shot up. I feel more independent in my studies. For me, I feel like I can achieve my goals on my own. Before, my goals were achieved with someone holding my hand. Now I am a more independent person, and I like that.”
